Spurs set to offer youngster a new deal

Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer youngster Luke Amos a new and improved deal, according to Sky Sports News.

After his impressive performances at the International Champions Cup, Spurs are hoping to tie the midfielder down to a long-term contract.

The 21-year-old was arguably Spurs’ best player in their USA pre-season tour. Amos started in each of the three games and looked more than comfortable in the middle of the park.

Amos was loaned out to Stevenage after signing a contract extension in January of this year where he made 16 appearances and bagging two goals.

SSN believe initial talks are set to take place when the Lilywhites return to their London base after Saturday’s final pre-season game against the Spanish outfit, Girona.

With no new faces having arrived at Spurs so far this summer it seems Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to tie down one of his biggest talents from the youth squad.

Tottenham have also faced a midfield injury crisis in their trip to the USA, also with Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele not returning to training until Monday 6 August it could be a possibility that we see Amos start against Newcastle United on the opening game.
