Spurs set to rival the likes of Man Utd and Leeds after recruitment revamp

Fabio Paratici is looking to further improve Tottenham Hotspur’s domestic recruitment by expanding their scouting operations in the North West and Yorkshire, according to The i.

The area is typically a stronghold of Manchester United, Manchester City and Leeds United but Spurs are now set to increase their activity across the area.

The north London club are reported to be currently interviewing for an experienced emerging talent scout who will be tasked with identifying talent aged between 16-20 and there has been plenty of interest in the role, which will see the successful candidate work closely with Tottenham’s head of emerging talent, Chris Perkins.

Spurs’ director of football Fabio Paratici has revamped the club’s scouting system since arriving at the club from Juventus last summer.

The Evening Standard reported earlier this week that the Italian wants more specialist knowledge of the English market and is close to appointing an assistant, who is thought to be from overseas.

Tottenham’s scouting network has identified some top talent in London in recent years with the likes of Dane Scarlett, Harry Kane, Japhet Tanganga and Harry Winks having come through the ranks and it makes sense to cast the net wider to other areas of the country.
