Tottenham Hotspur have today officially confirmed the arrival of 21 year old Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez as their first Summer signing on a 6 year deal.
As announced on Tottenham’s official social media, Davinson Sanchez has today joined Tottenham from Ajax on a 6 year deal for a figure rumoured to be close to £40 million.

The youngster had been widely expected to join Spurs over the last few days, and has finally put pen to paper on the deal which will see the Colombian on the books at Spurs until 2023.
Speaking about the deal, Sanchez himself said in an interview uploaded to Tottenham’s official club website:
“I would like to thank the coach, management, players and fans of Ajax. It is a great move for me to come here to develop my career.”
“I am very excited to be signing for such a famous club as Tottenham Hotspur. I am looking forward to working with Mauricio Pochettino and the players and meeting everyone there.”
Sanchez enjoyed an extraordinary breakthrough season in the Eredivisie last year, scoring 7 goals in 47 appearances for Ajax before being named the club’s Player of the Year, which has been won previously by Jan Vertonghen and Rafael Van Der Vaart.
At last Spurs are no longer the only Premier League team to not sign a new player. I was getting tired of that label.
