Spurs star a doubt for the North London derby against Arsenal

In what is ominous news for Tottenham Hotspur fans, star striker Harry Kane might miss the North London derby this evening at the Emirates.

It was reported that the Tottenham No.10 missed training outdoors on Tuesday owing to a cold.

When quizzed on the matter in his pre-match press conference, Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that the striker trained on his own on yesterday.

The Tottenham manager told Football.London: “We need to assess him because he had a cold this morning and he didn’t go outside to train. Big decision. If we consider that he can cover 90 minutes, maybe he can play. If not, maybe he will be on the bench.”

“To protect him, he didn’t train outside. He was doing something in the gym”, he added.

Harry Kane’s absence might mean that Fernando Llorente gets a rare opportunity to start a game after the Spaniard impressed in his cameos against Barcelona and Burnley.

However, Pochettino might also opt to start with the likes of Son or Moura upfront if Kane isn’t fit, just like he did against Leicester City two weeks ago.

Tottenham fans will certainly be hoping Kane plays a part in the game as the England captain has a stellar record against Arsenal having scored 8 goals in his last 8 games against them.
