Tottenham Hotspur have struggled to maintain results at the start of this 2019/20 season, only managing three wins in the Premier League out of a possible twelve.
Spurs are currently 12th in the league table and are closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League places at this moment in time.
Catching the likes of Chelsea and Leicester City seems to be a tall order for the Lilywhites, especially when they are showing no signs to turning this form around.
Tottenham are now five matches without a win in the Premier League, and have thrown away seven points from their last three games from winning positions.
Spurs were 1-0 up against Liverpool, Everton, and Sheffield United, only managing to secure a 2-1 defeat and back-to-back 1-1 draws respectively.
Moussa Sissoko, who is always one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers, claims that he does not know why the club are not performing at the level they expect.
He said (Euro Sport): “We are struggling since the beginning of the season. Why? I don’t know, because we are trying our best, but it’s not working. We see today it was a difficult game against a good team.
“We couldn’t keep the score, so we have a lot of frustration, but we need to keep going. We have to stick together and try to work hard and come back stronger. That is the only way to perform.
“Every team can have difficult moments. Since a few weeks we are struggling and that’s football. What can you do? Keep working, give your best every day ’til everything turns around.
“We know we have a good squad with a lot of quality. We know we can do better and have to do better. Hopefully, we’ll go away, have some wins with our national teams, and this will give us confidence. The season is still long, in the Champions League we are doing well.”
