Spurs star claims the club have a ‘responsibility’ to keep Harry Kane happy

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has claimed that Tottenham have a responsibility to make sure the situation at the North London Club is as good as it can be for Harry Kane.

This comes after the Lilywhites have failed to match the quality of the England captain in recent years, as Tottenham struggle while Kane picks up individual record after individual record.

It appears Spurs are set to end the 2022/23 season without a trophy once more, and potentially without any European football to speak of if they lose the Europa Conference League spot to Aston Villa.

Hojbjerg believes that Harry Kane will be in the football history books for a long time to come, which is why Spurs have a big responsibility to make sure he is happy at the club.

With Kane heading into the final 12 months of his Tottenham contract, Football Insider reported recently that the club want to hire a new manager as soon as possible, and are aiming for an appointment that will convince Harry to stay.

When asked about Kane, Hojbjerg said (Independent): “Harry is one of those players who will be in the (record) books, in the history for a very long time.

“It is important also for Harry to understand he has a big responsibility and also I think the club has a responsibility to make sure the scenario for him is the best possible.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Convincing Harry Kane to stay is a huge deal for Spurs. It has been said many times over the years, but this is the final Harry Kane crossroads. Either he buys into the new project and signs a new five-year deal or he runs his contract down, I think. I don’t see anything in between.
