Spurs star claims what Mourinho said will be ‘with me for the rest of my life’

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has claimed that the things Jose Mourinho said to him while together at Tottenham will stay with him for the rest of his life.

Hojbjerg was arguably one of the biggest winners of Mourinho’s time in North London, brought in during the summer under the Special One and thriving in the Premier League.

In fact, the Danish international finished the campaign having played every single minute of the Premier League season, as well as 15 games in other competitions.

Not only was he the defensive force in the Spurs engine room, but he also contributed two goals and five assists throughout the season.

The midfield enforcer was certainly a popular figure under Mourinho and he has now claimed that the goodbyes at Hotspur Way were positive. Mourinho was sacked in late April just six days before a Carabao Cup Final defeat against Man City.

Hojbjerg also revealed that his relationship with Mourinho was always great, while also taking the chance to wish him well for the future.

While on international duty with Denmark, he told Bold: “We said goodbye to him individually and it was really positive.

“We had a really good relationship and the things he said made me proud. I will take that with me for the rest of my life.

“I wish him the best in the future, but just not in the matches where he will play against me!”
