Spurs star could equal all-time record if he scoops Player of the Month award

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for February, the club has confirmed.

Kane has been the driving force for Spurs in recent weeks despite the performances of Antonio Conte’s side fluctuating drastically.

The England captain ended February with three goals and one assist in five appearances (Transfermarkt) which included eye-catching displays in wins over Manchester City and Leeds United respectively.

Kane has been awarded the Player of the Month award on six occasions before and he could level the seven achieved by former City star Sergio Aguero should he sweep the active one (MyFootballFacts).

His route to the prize is not expected to be simple, though, with Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha, Liverpool’s Joel Matip and Burnley’s Ben Mee also up for consideration.

Southampton striker Che Adams and Newcastle’s Ryan Fraser both complete the shortlist of names.

Tottenham endured a fairly tough February overall but Kane demonstrated that he was pretty good throughout. While he can create and score on his own, he can’t do everything by himself so his teammates need to start giving him a bit more support to ease the load placed on him.
