Spurs star insists he is not scared of Liverpool ahead of Champions League final

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has insisted that he does not fear Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final.

The Premier League opponents meet in Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday afternoon to battle it out for European football’s most prestigious trophy.

Liverpool go into the match having won the competition on five previous occasions along with the experience of playing in last year’s final before losing to a Gareth Bale-inspired Real Madrid. Spurs, on the other hand, have never featured in a European Cup final and also suffered a double defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side in the English top flight this season.

Sissoko who has brilliantly transformed his career at Tottenham from expensive flop to a cult hero among the supporters will not be afraid of the Reds for the showpiece and insisted that Spurs can beat any side on their day.

Spurs have shown great character during their European campaign this season having battled back from the jaws of elimination on a number of occasions and now find themselves just 90 minutes away from being able to call themselves the champions of Europe.

The Frenchman told ITV: “The spirit is fantastic, every time we were close to be out but we showed a lot of character to win the game. We know we can challenge against every team,” the Frenchman said.

“I am not scared of Liverpool or any team. We all need to challenge and we have to give our best and if we do it, we can beat any team. In the past we have showed it.”
