Spurs star insists playing alongside Kane and Son ‘compares’ to Cristiano Ronaldo

Dejan Kulusevski has said that playing alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min is comparable to his experience of lining up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

There were some eyebrows raised when Tottenham snapped up Kulusevski from Juventus during the January transfer window considering the winger had struggled to establish himself as a regular in the Serie A giants’ starting lineup.

However, the Swede has shown since his move to Spurs just why he was so highly thought of as a youngster at Parma.

The 22-year-old scored five times and registered eight assists in the second half of last season (Transfermarkt), playing a crucial role in helping the Lilywhites get back into the Champions League.

Despite Tottenham’s big-money signing of Richarlison from Everton this summer, Kulusevski would be expected to keep his place in Antonio Conte’s starting lineup alongside Kane and Son at the start of the new campaign.

The winger admitted that he sees his job as being able to provide goals for Tottenham’s feared duo.

When asked how playing alongside Kane and Son compares to Ronaldo, he told Football.London: “It compares a little bit. I have to make them score. That’s my job to give the ball to Harry and Son to score and their finishing is out of this world.”

If there were any doubts about who between Kulusevski and Richarlison will get the nod to start on the right, the Swede put that to rest with his impressive display in the 2-1 win over Rangers last week.

His attributes compliment that of Kane and Son really well and the 22-year-old adds a different dimension to our attack.
