Spurs star missed Man United defeat on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm

Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier missed the defeat to Manchester United after he was allegedly was arrested on suspicion of assault.

According to The Sun, the right-back was involved in a bust-up with his partner, Hencha Voigt who is said to be a reality tv personality after appearing on US TV in Wags of Miami.

Aurier was detained for several hours and explicitly denied assault and was later released without any police charge.

The paper claims that the police were called to their home in rural Hertfordshire after the couple were involved in a row which led to Aurier being arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

The couple have a little girl together and had only recently moved in together. Aurier joined Spurs for £23million from PSG in August of last year and has struggled to win the first-choice right-back slot from Kieran Trippier.

He recently scored two goals in the 7-0 FA Cup win at Tranmere Rovers.

A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Police confirmed to the paper: “A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of ABH. He has been released with no further action.”

A Spurs spokesman said: “We are aware of an incident concerning Serge Aurier this weekend.”
