Son Heung-min has been named the Premier League player of the month for October, Sky Sports have confirmed.
The South Korean beat his teammate Harry Kane, as well as the likes of Che Adams, Conor Coady, Pablo Fornals, Jack Grealish, Thiago Silva and Kyle Walker to the award.
Son has started the season on fire in front of goal and is currently sitting at the top of the Premier League’s goalscoring charts with eight goals in eight matches to date.
The 28-year-old has forged a lethal partnership with Kane, with the England captain assisting seven of his eight goals.
Son has received rave reviews from pundits over the past few weeks but he admitted recently that he has never considered himself to be among the best players in the Premier League (KFA’s Youtube channel via Football.London).
This award is certainly a recognition that the Tottenham forward now belongs alongside the best players in the division.
Tottenham also revealed that Kane finished a close second in the vote for the award.

Spurs Web Opinion
I expected Harry Kane to win the award given the standard of performances he has been producing on a consistent basis but I am delighted that Son has won it. The South Korean finally seems to be getting the plaudits that he deserves.
