Spurs star nominated for Player of the Month award

There has been little to cheer about for Spurs fans in the early stages of the season with the team making an extremely poor start to the campaign.

While the team’s form already had fans worried, the 7-2 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich has got the alarm bells ringing.

Most first team players look well short of their best with the defence, in particular, looking extremely suspect. Tottenham have managed to keep just two clean sheets in all competitions so far, a stat that will worry Mauricio Pochettino.

However, if there is one positive amidst the chaos, it is that Tottenham’s attack has started to click in the last few games. Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have both found their scoring boots while Erik Lamela and Tanguy Ndombele have looked dangerous going forward.

Son, in particular, has had an impressive start to the season despite missing the first two games of the campaign due to suspension. The South Korean has two goals and three assists in five matches so far this campaign (Transfermarket.com).

His impressive form has been rewarded as the 27-year-old has been nominated for the Player of the Month award for September

Spurs Web Opinion

Pochettino’s men do look dangerous going forward and even in the game against Bayern, they fashioned some fantastic chances. It is the defence that seems to be the main problem at the minute as the likes of Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Rose don’t look anywhere close to the players they were a couple of seasons ago.
