Despite the fact that the Tottenham players were given the day off, Ivan Perisic was pictured at the Hotspur Way gym doing some conditioning work on Thursday.
Spurs fought back impressively to come from a goal down against Marseille to win 2-1, thus sealing the top spot in Group D.
Perisic played all ninety minutes at the Stade Velodrome, with the Croat not only coming up with some vital defensive interceptions but also picking up the assist for Tottenham’s equaliser as his free-kick was turned home by Clement Lenglet.
PA Sport’s Jonathan Veal revealed that the Tottenham squad only arrived back in London at 4 am on Wednesday morning and that Conte had given them both Wednesday and Thursday off as a reward for progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
However, rather than resting at home, Perisic decided to report to Hotspur Way on Thursday to go through some recovery and conditioning work.

Perisic is an ultimate professional and it is not surprising that he has chosen to do recovery work in the gym rather than taking the day off. This sort of dedication is perhaps why the Croat remains in peak physical condition despite being 33 years of age.
