Spurs star posts positive update after missing five games through injury

Joe Rodon has taken to social media to react to his return to training with Wales after recovering from a summer injury.

Rodon has not played a single minute for Tottenham under Nuno Espirito Santo this season due to a thigh problem.

The central defender picked up the injury while he was being put through the paces along with the other substitutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following Spurs’ 1-0 win over City in their opening game of the season (Football.London).

In the 23-year-old’s absence, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have put in three impressive showings, with the pair yet to concede a goal in the Premier League.

New signing, Cristian Romero is also waiting in the wings, having shown glimpses of his quality in the Europa Conference League playoff against Pacos De Ferriera.

Rodon missed out on Wales’ friendly against Finland last week and their 3-2 win over Belarus in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

However, it now appears as though the former Swansea man is fit to play a part in Wales’ clash against Estonia on Thursday, as the defender took to Instagram to post a picture of him training, along with the caption: “Good to be back”.

With Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero both unavailable for the trip to Palace due to quarantining requirements on their return from South America, Nuno might well hand Rodon a start on Saturday. It could be a golden opportunity for the 23-year-old to make an impression on the new Spurs boss early in the season.
