Spurs star provides injury update

Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura has shared an update of his current injury on Twitter, admitting that he is still in pain.

The Brazilian sustained a thigh injury during the 7-0 FA Cup thrashing of Tranmere Rovers on January 4th and has since missed the matches against Chelsea and Manchester United.

Moura’s absence is magnified due to Harry Kane’s ankle injury that he suffered in the closing minutes of the loss to United. It is unknown at this time how long Kane could potentially be sidelined for until he undergoes a scan on a problem, but first must wait for the swelling to go down.

Spurs have lost another attacking option in Heung-min Son, who has jetted off to the UAE to take part in the Asian Cup with South Korea. Depending on their progress, he could miss the next five matches.

Fernando Llorente would be Tottenham’s only experienced striker if the worst happens to Kane, with Moura revealing he is undergoing ‘full time treatment’ to be able to return to action.
