Spurs star reveals he has had a ‘testing’ couple of weeks in message to fans

Dele Alli took to Twitter following England’s penalty shoot out win against Switzerland to finish third in the inaugural Uefa Nations League.

The midfielder played the full 120 minutes of the victory and means he will finish his season on a positive note.

Just over a week ago, Tottenham’s hopes of being crowned as champions of Europe for the first time in their history were cruelly ended by Liverpool in the final of the Champions League in Madrid.

Dele admitted that the last couple of weeks have been difficult and he has learned a great amount from the experience whilst also looking forward to the next campaign.

The 23-year-old will undoubtedly jet off for a break to recharge ahead of Tottenham’s pre-season which will see the club travel to the far east to face Juventus in Singapore followed by a match against Manchester United in Shanghai.

The Spurs man has had to play in a deeper role for a large part of the season given the injury issues which Mauricio Pochettino’s squad have encountered, along with hamstring issues of his own.
