Spurs star reveals on social media that he is on his way back from international duty

Tottenham fans will breathe a huge sigh of relief at Son Heung-min’s latest social media update after the Spurs forward confirmed that he is on his way back to London from Austria.

The South Korean camp was hampered by COVID-19 over the past few days with six players and two additional staff members all testing positive for the virus.

However, both of their friendlies against Mexico and Qatar went ahead, with Son captaining the side and completing 90 minutes in both matches.

The 28-year-old registered an assist in both games as his side were beaten by the Mexicans 3-2 on Saturday before overcoming Qatar 2-1 earlier today.

PA Sport’s Jonathan Veal confirmed before the game kicked off that all the members of South Korea’s squad will leave immediately after the game to return to their respective clubs.

It looks like Son has not wasted any time in boarding a flight back to London as the Tottenham star took to Instagram to post a picture of himself waving goodbye in what looked to be an airport runway.
