Spurs star reveals that he idolised an Arsenal legend when he was younger

Few players in the history of Tottenham Hotspur have been able to clutch victory from the jaws of defeat in terms of their career more than Moussa Sissoko.

After his first season at the club, his reputation and relationship with the fans was in tatters, stadiums groaned as he entered the field of play, and few would have named him in their starting XIs.

However, fast forward to 2019 and Sissoko is somehow one of the first names on the teamsheet each week after standing out as one of Tottenham’s best players in the 2018/19 season.

Moving into the central midfield position, Sissoko has really found his calling in a Lilywhite shirt, putting his pace, power, and driving ability to good use.

While talking to TalkSPORT, Moussa Sissoko was hesitant to give a truthful answer when they asked him who his idol was when he was younger, and you can see why.

Sissoko only went and named an Arsenal legend!

It’s okay, Moussa, we forgive you.

Sissoko said: “I don’t want to have any problems if I say his name, but it was Vieira!

“We play in the same position, he is tall like me, playing in the France national team like I am now.

“So I was following him and tried to be like him when I was younger.”
