Spurs star reveals that his ‘hard work starts tomorrow’ ahead of pre-season

It has been an eventful few weeks for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies, from the Champions League final to international duty to surgery.

After playing through the pain barrier for club and country over the final months of the season, Tottenham announced that Davies had undergone groin surgery.

The announcement claimed that the left-back was expected to return to training in time for the new 2019/20 Premier League season.

It seems as if this has gone exactly to plan, as the player himself has now revealed that his pre-season work starts today.

Davies made 27 appearances under Mauricio Pochettino last season and has been an integral part of the squad for the Argentine’s five-year reign.

Poch is a big fan of rotating his wing backs often through the season to keep them fresh and to give him different options.

Davies has also been utilised as a third centre-back at times, a position he has also occupied for Wales in recent history.

Davies tweeted yesterday that he had been resting since the surgery (a holiday in California) but starts his hard work today.
