Spurs star says he will be back from injury in time for Aston Villa match on Sunday

Richarlison has told the Brazilian media that he will be back in time to face Aston Villa on Sunday, despite missing Tottenham’s last game through injury.

The former Everton man was missing from the matchday squad that beat Crystal Palace 3-1 on Saturday, with Heung-min Son starting and scoring from the number nine position in his absence.

However, it appears Spurs fans won’t have to wait long for Richarlison to return to the starting XI as the player himself has offered a rather positive update.

Richarlison will be back from injury this weekend

Richarlison expects to return to the training pitch today and be fit in time to face Aston Villa on Sunday, despite Postecoglou stating the Brazilian would be out for a number of weeks (Football.London).

The striker told ESPN Brazil: “No, it’s fine. Didn’t you see the sprint I had when we scored? So I’m already training, I’ll be on the pitch tomorrow and I think I’ll be ready for the game next Saturday.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

The more players Postecoglou has to choose from, the better. However, I do think Heung-min Son looks wasted so wide left at times for Spurs. He is clinical enough to play down the middle and has enough quality on the ball to play those balls over the top, like he did to send Werner through on Saturday
