Richarlison has slammed Aaron Ramsdale, accusing the Arsenal goalkeeper of disrespecting Tottenham fans after the final whistle.

Ramsdale pulled off some impressive saves to help Arsenal keep a clean sheet and emerge with all three points from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, tempers flared after the final whistle, with the Arsenal man seemingly being shoved by Richarlison before a Spurs fan tried to kick the 24-year-old when he had gone behind the goalpost to pick up his water bottle.

Security officials and the players of both teams had to intervene and the fan’s behaviour has been slammed by many, including Spurs fans.

Tottenham released a statement condemning the incident and confirming that they were working together with the Met Police to identify the perpetrator, promising to take the “strongest possible action”. A man has since been charged

However, Richarlison has said that he was far from impressed with Ramsdale’s behaviour, questioning why he was celebrating in front of the Spurs fans instead of the away end.

The forward told ESPN Brasil: “What I really didn’t like was their goalkeeper going to celebrate in front of our fans. It’s disrespectful. He should go and celebrate with their fans, not be cute with our fans.

“We know that at the time we tried to do our best, but we have to respect the other teams. He lacked respect there, and I went there to charge him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I have no issues with Ramsdale’s behaviour and I believe he had every right to give it back to Spurs fans. Even though it hurts to be on the receiving end after a loss, moments like that are what derbies are about. The fan in question behaved idiotically and deserves a lifetime ban for trying to physically assault a player, which can never be condoned.
