Spurs star spotted on holiday with old teammate Mousa Dembele

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has taken to Instagram to reveal that he has met up with former team-mate Mousa Dembele ahead of the new campaign.

Dier missed out on selection for Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this month’s UEFA Nations League fixtures despite having been one of Spurs’ most consistent performers over the course of the season.

The 28-year-old has been making the most of the off-season, having already travelled to the USA with Japhet Tanganga and Brandon Austin to watch the NBA and followed it up with a trip to Monaco to watch the F1 along with right-back Matt Doherty.

Dier has since headed to Saint-Tropez to meet up with the Belgian international and revealed that the pair took part in a 3v3 game of football, and joked that ‘it was funny to remember what it was like to steal a living’ in a nod to the talent which Dembele possesses.

The Spurs defender has previously labelled Dembele as the best player he has ever played with (The High Performance podcast).

The squad which enjoyed success under Mauricio Pochettino was a close-knit group and it is clear to see that their friendships have extended beyond their time in north London, frustratingly they were unable to secure any silverware for their efforts.

Dier will be hoping that next season under Antonio Conte, the club can end their fourteen-year wait for a trophy.
