Spurs star thinks fans can be ‘really excited’ for new season, judging by what he has seen in training

Son Heung-min thinks Spurs fans can start to get excited about what the upcoming campaign has in store, just from what he has seen in the training sessions under Ange Postecoglou and the new coaching staff so far.

Son flew directly to Perth from South Korea and only joined his teammates for pre-season a couple of days ago.

However, the forward has seemingly already been impressed with what he has seen in the few training sessions he has had under the new regime.

The 31-year-old spoke about his desire to get back to his best after a difficult season last time out, admitting that he was unable to play the way he wanted to in 2022-23 due to the injury he was carrying.

Son thinks Spurs will be exciting next season

Son also remarked that he now has a more important leadership role in the dressing room, being one of the senior players in the squad and having been at the club for eight years.

He told Spurs Play: “Playing under him (Postecoglou) is going to be very exciting.

“I’m looking forward to it. I’m ready to give everything I have for him and for the club, teammates and also for the fans.

“From what I can see in the training, I think the people can be really excited.”

Spurs Web Opinion

From the manner in which Spurs have put Son forward for the press conference and for this interview, and from the questions that were posed to him here, it seems like the club are trying to position the 31-year-old for a captaincy role. Perhaps that indicates that they expect Kane to leave.
