Tottenham have revealed that Toby Alderweireld will be back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening to greet the fans ahead of their Europa Conference League clash.
Alderweireld departed Spurs during the summer, completing a move to Qatari side Al-Duhail. That brought an end to the central defender’s six-year spell at the North London club after joining from Atletico Madrid in 2015.
The Belgian international was a crucial part of the club’s rise under Mauricio Pochettino and gave his best years to the Lilywhites.
Despite not having any silverware to show for his efforts at Spurs, he was part of the best Tottenham team of a generation and helped the club to reach new heights in the Premier League, while even reaching the Champions League final.
The 32-year-old remained a fan favourite until the end of his tenure at Spurs despite seeing his game time cut down slightly in his final 12 months at the club.
Alderweireld has revealed that he will be back at the club for the first time since his departure over the summer for Tottenham’s clash against Vitesse Arnhem.

Spurs Web Opinion
It will be fantastic for the fans to see Toby back and the 32-year-old could not have picked a better time to return given the buzz around the club following Antonio Conte’s arrival.
The atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be a world apart from what we saw against Manchester United on Saturday, where it got extremely toxic.
