‘Spurs still possible’ – Journalist says the race for Premier League star is not over yet

Journalist Ben Jacobs has taken to social media to reveal that Tosin Adarabioyo is yet to make a final decision on which club he wants to join, with a switch to Tottenham still very much being on the cards for the centre-back.

The race for Adarabioyo appears to be heating up ahead of the summer, which is not surprising, given that the 26-year-old’s current deal at Craven Cottage runs out this summer.

Last week, a few sources suggested that Newcastle had moved into pole position to beat the likes of Spurs to the Englishman’s signature, with the Magpies even alleged to have offered the player a contract worth £100,000 per week (The Northern Echo).

However, this was contradicted last Thursday by Fabrizio Romano, who insisted that the race for the Cottagers star remains wide open.

Spurs still have a chance in Tosin Adarabioyo race

Jacobs has now said something similar, explaining that despite talking to Newcastle, Adarabioyo has not decided on his next club yet.

He says that with the likes of Spurs and Chelsea still sniffing around the defender, he is keen to wait and see which clubs get European football next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Newcastle have an advantage over Spurs in the race for Adarbioyo since they can offer him guarantees of game time, I suspect the Magpies are prioritising a move for Lloyd Kelly over the Fulham star. That should hopefully allow Tottenham to swoop for the 26-year-old over the coming weeks.
