Spurs suffer defender blow

According to ESPN Toby Alderweireld has said he will have a scan in the coming days after limping off with a hamstring problem in the 24th minute of Tottenham’s 3-1 win against Real Madrid last night.

The Belgian defender was replaced by Moussa Sissoko after pulling-up and Eric Dier moving into the back-three.

Afterwards, Toby confirmed he had suffered a hamstring problem and it did not look good in the possibility of him featuring in Sunday’s Premier League match at Crystal Palace.

“It doesn’t feel very good,” the Belgian said. “We’ll have to see in the next couple of days how it feels. Something happened, there’s no chance I could have played on.
“In the next couple of games, I’ll have a scan and we’ll take it from there.”

The article adds that Mauricio Pochettino also confirmed that Alderweireld is already a doubt for Sunday after picking up the injury.
Pochettino added: “He felt something in his hamstring. After tomorrow we will assess him. Sure for Sunday, it’s difficult, but we’ll see after we assess him in the next few days.”

So the only real blot on an otherwise fantastic night at Wembley. Alderweireld is a vital player and hopefully he won’t be out for too long
