Spurs suffer huge blow ahead of Champions League semi-final against Ajax

The Tottenham Hotspur players put in a heroic performance at the Etihad Stadium last evening to progress to the semi-final of the Champions League on away goals.

Spurs took a 1-0 lead into the game but were without several important players as the likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Erik Lamela, and Serge Aurier were all missing through injuries.

To make matters worse, Moussa Sissoko also limped off with a groin injury in the latter stages of the first half which left Spurs short of options in the middle of the park.

Now, it has been confirmed that Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min will miss the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Ajax at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after picking up his third booking of the tournament in yesterday’s game.

What makes it even more heart-breaking is that Son did not know until a German interviewer informed him.

With both Kane and Son missing, Tottenham’s goal threat will diminish massively when they face off against the team at the summit of the Eredivisie table.

Pochettino will be hoping that the likes Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko recover in time for the game so that Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli can be employed a little further forward against Ajax.
