The Tottenham Hotspur players put in a heroic performance at the Etihad Stadium last evening to progress to the semi-final of the Champions League on away goals.

Spurs took a 1-0 lead into the game but were without several important players as the likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Erik Lamela, and Serge Aurier were all missing through injuries.

To make matters worse, Moussa Sissoko also limped off with a groin injury in the latter stages of the first half which left Spurs short of options in the middle of the park.

Now, it has been confirmed that Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min will miss the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Ajax at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after picking up his third booking of the tournament in yesterday’s game.

What makes it even more heart-breaking is that Son did not know until a German interviewer informed him.

With both Kane and Son missing, Tottenham’s goal threat will diminish massively when they face off against the team at the summit of the Eredivisie table.

Pochettino will be hoping that the likes Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko recover in time for the game so that Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli can be employed a little further forward against Ajax.

  1. What happened to Article 50,not the Brexit one. The UEFA ruling that at the end of the Quarter Finals ALL yellow cards would be dropped to allow the fullest chance forAll teams. Looks they oversaw that or just did not expect Son or Spurs to make it to the Semi Finals. Now that they have Spurs should appealin view Kane was injured by a Man City player who should have been red carded by VAR. Too many Premier games deliberately fixed around this competition.

  2. who cares, this is nothing new we will play with who we have. At the end of the day, this isn’t the end of the world and the first leg is at home and we will be looking to keep a clean sheet. As long as sonny is back for the second leg i think luca and llorente will be fine up front and lamella should be healthy for leg 1 and ali plus erikson. I think we will be fine. It isn’t ideal but we have some depth on the bench
