Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Luka Modric has suffered a fracture of his right fibula.

The midfielder picked up the injury just after half-time in the 2-1 win against Birmingham City at White Hart Lane in a tackle with Lee Bowyer – up to that point, Modric had been having one of his best games for Spurs.

The Croatian international will be out of action for a minimum of anywhere between 4-6 weeks.

What do you make of this news? Who should take his place?

  1. Lets wait and see. The term ‘broken leg’, which is being reported in most places is a slight exaggeration. Eduardo had a broken leg, this is a fractured fibula and he did walk off the pitch so you gotta think he’ll be back well before Xmas but who knows – I would be surprised he is still out at Xmas.

  2. Bring back O’Hara, problem solved. Also don;t forget we have Giovani Dos Santos who was player of the tournament this summer in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.. Additionaly Robbie Keane can play in the same position.. So could see more from Crouch.. We are still very strong even if he is out for 8 weeks..
