Spurs-supporting pundit suggests Man City should sign Lilywhite star

Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison revealed that he grew up as a Tottenham fan and still has affection for the club but admitted that Harry Kane should swap North London for Manchester City for the sake of his own career.

Tottenham have gone from being talked about as title contenders a couple of months ago to now potentially missing out on Champions League qualification.

With the team’s poor recent run of form in the top flight, there has been much speculation regarding the futures of Kane and Son Heung-min.

Kane, in particular, is reported to be on the radar of a number of clubs including the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain

The England captain still has over three years left on his deal with the North London club but it remains to be seen if he will commit his future to the club if they end up having another poor campaign.

Morison has urged Pep Guardiola to snap up the Tottenham talisman in the summer, insisting that the striker will thrive in the current City side.

The pundit told Sky Sports News (1:59pm, February 20, 2021): “I will be honest. Sitting here, I am a Tottenham fan, so I am telling people what I am. I am a Tottenham fan.

“I have been a Tottenham fan for years. I was a ball boy there when I was 14 years of age.

“It pains me to say this, but if I am Pep Guardiola, I am going to get Harry Kane. Without a shadow of a doubt.

“If Harry Kane is in that Man City team, he goes and scores 40 goals a season without a shadow of a doubt.”

If we do not qualify for next season’ Champions League and finish the campaign without any silverware, Kane will likely be seriously tempted to leave. If Kane does decide to push for a move, I suspect City will be his most likely destination rather than PSG as not only are Pep Guardiola’s side one of the few clubs who can afford him but staying in the Premier League would also give him a great shot of breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record, which Kane seems to be desperate to do.
