Spurs take big step towards stadium opening by hosting event

Tottenham Hotspur fans are still waiting patiently for their first taste of the new Spurs stadium this season.

The 62,000 seat ground was originally supposed to open at the beginning of the season, with a September 15 date against Liverpool earmarked for the first match.

However, multiple delays have pushed the date back further and further, leaving Tottenham fans more and more frustrated.

Spurs are expected to make a stadium announcement of some kind this week, but it remains to be seen whether they will be announcing an opening date.

Fans may also not trust expected dates by now, as they have been disappointed time and time again.

The stadium still has to hold two test events to pass health and safety before they can open, and although their most recent even did not count towards the tally, it was a big step forward.

Tottenham opened their stadium to 1,000 people on Sunday night to watch the Super Bowl. Let’s hope it won’t be long before they open their doors to the full 62,000+.
