Spurs target staying put says manager

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have both been linked to Napoli’s star midfield man Allan, however, latest reports say this deal is a no-go.

Allan’s performances in a Napoli shirt have rightly caught the eye of a few European heavyweights, including Spurs and City.

Spurs will be on the lookout for a new midfielder this month, with injuries to Moussa Sissoko, Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier, Luke Amos, and the potential departure of Mousa Dembele.

However, Allan may not be their man as Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has come out insisting that the midfield man will remain at the club.

Allan would be the type of signing that could take the Spurs midfield to the next level, but it doesn’t appear as if this deal will go any further.

Tottenham have just over two weeks to sign a midfielder if they wish to do so, before the window slams shut again until the summer.

Ancelotti said (Sky Sports): “They have nothing, Allan is our player. We don’t need to discuss anything with the president, because there are no big moves on the horizon.

“I hope the transfer window closes soon so we can all focus on our football. I have never been concerned about losing Allan, because he had a fantastic first half of the season and we hope he’ll do even better for us going forward.”
