Spurs to bid for Young in the next 24 hours?

The newspapers are once again full of speculation linking us with a move for Ashley Young.

The England winger is apparently ready to review his future at Aston Villa after their Europa League exit at the hands of Rapid Vienna on Thursday.

Spurs have been long-term admirers of the 25-year-old, even since he was still playing for Watford – the problem however is that he is now valued at around £25million, although this fee could be lowered by offering the likes of Robbie Keane in exchange.

Young earns £65,000-a-week at Villa, which falls within Tottenham’s wage structure. The Daily Mirror claim that Villa officials are expecting an official bid from Spurs in the next 24 hours.

  1. No No No. One of the most over rated players around. Another Jenas methinks. We do not need him. Bale is better in that position anyway.

  2. Swanspur, of course Bale is better, but no way will Bale play 38 league Games, 6+ cup Games, 8+ european Games. Same goes for Lennon. I think he's a perfect fit. And I know that a lot of people will say "Oh, but Kranjcar or Modric can play on the left", but in real life, we want Modric in the middle, and I fancy Young over Kranjcar too.

  3. bentley aint good enough..gio still has to adapt to the english game…danny rose was a one shot flash in the pan…lennon isnt better than young!!! stop your moaning you lot!!! could have done with a decent player like young in our team today..what a load of rubbish against wigan, how can someone like young be "not wanted" after today..same old spurs will never grow if we dont sign players like young to bring the club forward..we will end up standing there and watching man city, everton fly by us while the gap between us and the big 3 of last season will become even further then it already is!!! stop living on last season..this season we are going to struggle MASSIVELY..today proved we cant and wont cope with a champions league game midweek followed up with a premier league game the saturday coming..we will always lose one of the 2
