Spurs to make last-gasp attempt to sign French midfielder

Tottenham will make a late attempt to sign Olympique Lyonnais’ Tanguy N’Dombélé, according to L’Equipe.

Spurs were previously linked with the midfielder earlier in the transfer window but to no prevail with Jack Grealish being their main target.

However, according to reports Daniel Levy will spearhead a late attempt to secure the services of the 21-year-old.

N’Dombélé has appeared 28 times for Lyon in Ligue 1 and although he has not yet scored he has provided six assists from his deep-lying role.

The youngster was only on loan at Lyon last campaign but the French side agreed to activate the believed £8m option to sign him permanently.

However, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs interested in attracting N’Dombele, Lyon could be set to cash in whilst the demand for the youngster is high.

Spurs fans, could this 21-year-old provide the long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele which we are crying out for or should we be looking closer to home with Luke Amos?
