Have Spurs unearthed a new goalscoring sensation?

The Daily Star writes that we could have another sensational striker on our books.

The article says that just like England star Harry Kane, this forward was also once on the books of bitter rivals Arsenal.

The lad in question is sensational youngster Rodel Richards made it two hat-tricks in 10 days with his treble against Preston in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

It adds how the 17-year-old is in blistering form at present and the article says his goals have surely caught the eye of of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

It goes on to say how Richards hit 27 goals in his first season for Spurs U16s and his goals don’t look to be drying up as he goes up through the age groups and that If the striker continues his vein of goal-scoring into the new year he could even be knocking on the first-team door by the end of the season.

The article adds that former Spurs midfielder general Scott Parker has heaped praise on the youngster. After the 5-0 win over Preston Spurs Under-18 coach Parker told the Tottenham website that Richards won’t want Christmas to come as it may halt his form.

“RJ (Rodel Richards) probably doesn’t want Christmas to come to be fair!”:said Parker.
“He’s in such a good vein of form but it’s a little break in terms of games now.Although I think all of the boys have been a credit really.

Parker added: “I mentioned it at the weekend but after that bad result we had at Arsenal a couple of weeks ago.The players have really rolled their sleeves up and gone on to another level which has been really pleasing.”
