Spurs warned, Zidane’s Madrid have point to prove

According to an article in The Star Zinedine Zidane has warned Tottenham that his side are looking to prove a point following very indifferent form including a shock defeat at lowly Girona on Sunday.

The Galactico’s have travelled to London for the immediate return of the Champions League fixture with us at Wembley, after we came away with a valuable point from the Bernabeu a fortnight ago.

Zizou is looking forward to taking his team to one of world football’s most iconic venues. The article quotes the former France hero as saying: “We are feeling good and ready to perform well against a great team in Tottenham Hotspur,”

He continued: “After a defeat of course people aren’t happy but in some ways I like this. I like having the motivation of a big match to get back to winning ways. Rest assured, the players are going to be very well prepared.

Zidane added “Wembley is an important place in the football world. It’s a great stage to play on against great opposition.
“Of course the players approach every match with the same mentality to win. But it’s a beautiful stadium and will be a great spectacle.

“Wembley represents a lot in the football world but for me what is more important is that two great teams are coming up against each other.”

So are Madrid the proverbial ‘wounded animal’ right now? They’re clearly hurting and despite his hero status at the club, Zidane’s position is shaky. Which Madrid will turn up tonight? Are they there for the taking. Let us know your thoughts
