Tottenham Hotspur’s social media team wasted no time in hitting back at their West Ham United counterparts.
Earlier this week West Ham’s official account posted highlights of when the Hammers defeated Chelsea and Manchester United sides coached by Jose Mourinho along with the caption ‘See you on Saturday, Jose’ accompanied by a wink emoji.
West Ham later deleted the tweet ahead of the Premier League match between the London rivals but not before Spurs fans had an opportunity to save a copy.
The post backfired on the Hammers after Spurs took all three points from the fixture at the London Stadium in a 3-2 win courtesy of goals from Heung-min Son, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.
After the match, the Spurs social media team posted a Tweet with a subtle reference to what West Ham’s backfired message when they posted ‘See you on Tuesday, Spurs fans’ accompanied by a photo of Jose Mourinho along with a wink emoji.
