‘Spurs will probably get this done’ – Journalist predicts positive transfer news for Postecoglou

George Sessions has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Club Brugge wonderkid, Antonio Nusa, and he thinks the Lilywhites will be able to get the transfer sorted before the end of the month.

With two players already through the door this month, and multiple fringe players heading out of North London, it’s fair to say it has already been a successful January for Tottenham.

But, it seems Spurs are not done in the transfer market just yet, as reports have suggested pretty heavily that the club are looking to sign Club Brugge’s 18-year-old winger, Antonio Nusa. The deal would reportedly cost Spurs €30m (£25.7m), with the player remaining in Belgium until the summer (The Athletic).

Tottenham are facing competition for the highly-rated Norwegian star, with fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Liverpool (Football.London), Newcastle United (Football Insider), West Ham (Sport Lens) and Chelsea (The Guardian) all thought to be interested in the player.

Because of this, Fabrizio Romano recently revealed to GiveMeSport that Tottenham are keen to get the transfer wrapped up and beat the competition, and it is thought the Lilywhites are ‘pushing’ to get the deal over the line.

Spurs fans shouldn’t panic about Antonio Nusa

Now, George Sessions has added his thoughts to the matter, and insists Spurs fans should not worry that a deal isn’t finalised yet.

He told The Spurs Chat Podcast: “The second half of the window has been focused on him. I wouldn’t panic too much that it happened last week that the news broke and nothing has happened since. I wouldn’t worry too much.

“Spurs clearly want Antonio Nusa and in the summer they were mentioned as well, so he’s been on the radar a long time. If I were to stick my neck on the line I would say that Spurs will probably get this done, especially with this being a loan that suits Club Brugge.”

We have to remember, this is not a player we are looking at adding to our squad right now, he’s a signing for the future. That means Tottenham can afford to take their time and make sure the deal is completed without rushing.
