Spurs will pull off at least one signing before window shuts, believes Harry Redknapp

Tottenham Hotspur remains one of just two Premier League clubs not to have brought any players in during this summer’s transfer window.

However, former manager Harry Redknapp strongly believes that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will pull off at least one summer signing before the window slams shut.

Redknapp told Talksport:

“But he pulls off great deals, and I’m sure he’ll have one or two rabbits in the hat he’s waiting to pull out at the last minute.”

“Daniel tends to move at the very last minute; he’ll have a two-for-one deal, a buy-one-get-one-free or something,” the veteran manager added.

Having worked under Levy for four years, Redknapp will be well aware of the typical ‘last-minute’ dealings from the Spurs chairman.

The Lilywhites have been linked with numerous targets throughout the summer break but the price tag has always seemed to be the stumbling block.

Aston Villa midfielder, Jack Grealish has seemed to be on the cusp of signing a deal with the north London club for months now but Spurs have failed so far to get the deal over the line.

Whether Levy is holding out for the right player or the right deal remains to be seen. However, the Tottenham faithful are far from impressed.

Spurs are now the only side in the top-six who have not added to their squad. Spurs fans, can you see any player(s) coming in before Thursday 9 August?

  1. I am one of many Spurs fans who is not concerned about the lack of acquisitions. I am hoping that we re- sign Alderweireld and keep Dembele. If either of them leave we may need a last minute acquisition. Otherwise, we are in pretty good shape with a year to shore up the depth.

    • Would love to see Kondogbia signed, he is an absolute beast just like Dembele but he has more goals and a bigger range of passing in him.

  2. The problem with players possibly leaving is that unless any incoming players contracts, medicals etc are not already in the works…it “could” be too late to get new players in with so few days left in the transfer window.

What happened to MoPo “wanting” any new players to partake in the entire pre-season training? The only new players that have taken part in the USA tour are youth team players. Are they ready for the PL? Maybe CCV…but not sure about the others on tour currently.

  3. If our one signing is Grealish, that will be one big joke of a marquee signing. We were promised that Pochettino had a £150m war chest plus whatever he sold, also that the transfers would be done early so they had time to settle and also that we would make a marquee signing. Pochettino must be really unimpressed with the way the transfer window has gone, none of what he was told has happened. The way I see things is when we have a naming right deal done, it will bring in around £350m to £400m, then also the sale of the 4 towers if they are all to be sold will pay off the rest, so the stadium build really shouldn’t affect the transfer of players, it should be kept seperate. If anyone knows what is to be done with the four towers I would love to know?
