Spurs would be open to selling player they only signed last summer – Journalist

The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke has said that Tottenham Hotspur would be open to listening to offers for Manor Solomon.

Solomon has had a disastrous first season at Spurs since joining the club last summer on a free transfer.

The pacy winger did show some signs of real promise in the first few matches of the season but has not featured since suffering a meniscus injury back in August of last year.

The 24-year-old, who is yet to score his first goal for the Lilywhites, is not expected to be back until the start of pre-season and he took to Instagram last month to admit that the past few months have been ‘the most difficult and frustrating’ time of his career.

Postecoglou’s men will be hoping that Solomon has put his injury issues behind him and prove a useful option for next season as the Lilywhites look to compete on multiple fronts.

Tottenham could look to sell Manor Solomon

However, Pitt-Brooke has suggested that Tottenham would already be contemplating selling the Isreal international, although he did point out that his fitness issues might complicate a potential sale.

The journalist told The View From The Lane podcast: “I’m sure that Spurs would be open in the long-term to selling Solomon, I know he’s been injured. I think they would take a view of what the market was for Solomon this summer, the injuries obviously make it harder to do anything.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Tottenham will consider selling Solomon this summer. Not only will Postecoglou be keen to give the winger a chance to prove himself but the club will also realise that they would not be able to get good value for him this summer, given that he has not kicked a ball for seven months.
