Spurs youngster bags assist on record International

Most of Tottenham’s first team players are currently with their national teams. While some players have been involved in international friendlies, the European players began their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

Tottenham youngster Anthony Georgiou was called up to Cyprus’ national squad as they kick-started their Euro qualifying campaign against group minnows San Marino.

The 22-year-old started on the right-hand side and played the full 90 minutes as Cyrpus ended up comprehensively winning the game 5-0.

The Spurs man also bagged his first international assist as his corner in the 56th-minute was headed in by defender Konstantinos Laifis.

Georgiou is highly rated at Tottenham as demonstrated by the fact that Pochettino has often asked the youngster to train with the first team.

The Cypriot also regularly featured during Tottenham’s preseason in the United States, where he was also employed at left full back by the Argentine.

While bagging his first international assist is certainly a great achievement for Georgiou, it remains to be seen if he has a future at Tottenham.
