Spurs youngster reacts to first involvement with first-team ahead of Europa League tie

Tottenham youngster Roshaun Mathurin has taken to social media to admit that he is grateful for the opportunity to train with the Spurs first-team ahead of the North Londoners’ Europa League tie against Dinamo Zagreb.

Mathurin has been a consistent performer for the Under-18s this season and the winger produced his best display of the season against Chelsea’s Under-18s on Saturday when he netted a hat-trick in a 6-1 win.

Jose Mourinho has been more than willing to Spurs’ academy stars a chance in the Europa League this season, with the likes of Dane Scarlett, Marcel Lavinier and Nile John all getting run-outs in the previous round against Wolfsberger.

Jack Clarke, Alfie Devine and Harvey White also got some minutes under their belt in the group stages of the competition.

Mathurin has now been rewarded by the Tottenham boss for his performance on Saturday by being included in the session at Hotspur Way.

Here’s how the 17-year-old reacted to being called up to train with the likes of Harry Kane and Gareth Bale yesterday:
