‘I also liked England’ – Starlet linked with Spurs would love to play in Europe

Brazilian starlet, Endrick Felipe, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has admitted that he dreams of playing in a European league one day.

Endrick made his senior debut for Palmeiras earlier this season and has made just six appearances in the Brazilian top flight so far, scoring three and registering an assist (Transfermarkt).

However, the 16-year-old was already being monitored by some of the biggest clubs in Europe even before he broke into the Palmeiras side, thanks to his impressive displays in youth football over the past couple of years.

Journalist Jorge Nicola revealed on his YouTube channel Canal do Nicola (23/09/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) back in September that the striker is on the radars of three Premier League sides in Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle United ahead of the January transfer window.

Mundo Deportivo subsequently revealed that the teenager is also being monitored by Real Madrid and Barcelona while Marca reported a couple of weeks ago that Paris Saint-Germain were readying a €20m (£17.1m) offer for the forward.

Endrick has now opened up on his desire to play in Europe but the youngster insisted that he is not letting the speculation over his future derail his focus.

The Brazilian told EFE: “Obviously my dream is to play in Europe. I’m focused here. I am not looking at the (rumours). Or what teams are coming, or what scouts are coming. I’m focused on Palmeiras.

“I’ve got no preference for any team. I study Spanish, English and French because I like learning new things. I went to Madrid with my family and I really liked the language (but) I also liked England a lot. (But) my present is here. I want to play for Palmeiras and win titles. Three goals and an assist in five games? I think I have to work harder.”

Many clubs seem to view Endrick as the next big superstar to emerge from Brazilian football and so, one can expect a huge bidding war for the teenager over the coming months.

Spurs do not get tend to get involved in bidding wars, which is why I would be surprised if we push ahead with a move for the Palmeiras starlet.
