The Premier League campaign has been quite unpredictable so far with a number traditional big six teams struggling while others including Leicester City, Wolves and Sheffield United surprising many people with how well they have done.

The Daily Express asked stat experts to predict how the league table will look at the end of the season based on this season’s numbers and historic data.

After crunching the data, the experts shocking predicted Spurs to finish in ninth place, one place below Manchester United and one above Arsenal.

While the methodology used to arrive at the prediction hasn’t been elaborated in the article, if the prediction comes to fruition, it will mean Spurs finishing outside the top six for the first time in eleven seasons.

Their predictions see Liverpool winning the title, with Leicester City, Manchester City and Chelsea rounding out the top four. Surprisingly, the likes of Sheffield United, Burnley and Wolves are all predicted to finish above Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

This really is a farcical prediction and the statistical methodology used hasn’t been elaborated on. Tottenham are already up to 5th place in the table with the win over Bournemouth. I simply cannot see us finishing outside the top six and I believe we have a good chance of finishing in the top four this season now that the players’ confidence seems to be back.
