Statistics show Hojbjerg is leading the way in three key areas for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed on their official Twitter account that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made more passes, tackles and had more touches of the ball than any other Spurs player this season.

Hojbjerg enjoyed an impressive first season at Tottenham following his move from Southampton in the summer of 2020.

Although the midfielder has continued to be a mainstay in the Spurs starting eleven this season, both under Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte, he has failed to replicate the same sort of consistency.

The 26-year-old has come under a fair bit of criticism for his performances over recent months, with some pundits suggesting that Spurs should move him on in the summer (Football Insider).

However, Hojbjerg has had a resurgence in form over the last few weeks, forming a solid partnership in the middle of the park with Rodrigo Bentancur.

Spurs fans will be hoping that the former Saints star maintains his current run of form and the club have now posted a stat on social media to remind the fan base of how important a player the Denmark international is to the team.

This stat alone does not tell much of the story, given that Hojbjerg has had more game time than any of our other midfielders this season. So, one would expect him to have the most tackles, passes and touches. There is no question that he was struggling for form until a month or so ago but the arrival of Bentancur appears to have brought the best out of him.
