Tottenham Hotspur legend, Graham Roberts has hit out at the club’s former head coach, Jose Mourinho, for comments he made in an interview with The Sun.

Mourinho, who managed Spurs for around 18 months from 2019 to 2021, told The Sun that Harry Kane has a lot on his shoulders because he is not winning at club level but wants to win with his country.

Kane is currently on international duty with England in the European Championships, with the Three Lions having qualified for the knockout stages.

Mourinho said: “Harry has a lot on his shoulders. He’s not winning with his club (Spurs), so he wants to win with his country.”

However, Graham Roberts was keen to point out that Mourinho was a part of Spurs not winning trophies as he was in charge of the embarrassing night away to Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League last season.

Tottenham went into the knockout game two goals to the good before losing 3-0 on the night in Croatia.

He urged the manager to stop blaming everyone else while pointing to the wages he was earning in North London with Spurs.

Roberts said: ‘Was Jose not the man in charge of the worse debacle at Zagreb away I had seen in ten years? @TheSun stop blaming everyone else but your self Jose you were on 15 million a season.’
