‘Strange’ – Ex-Spurs star reveals that current player trained alone post-match recently

It has been a strange month for Danny Rose at Tottenham since Jose Mourinho took over, as many expected the left-back to be handed a fresh start.

However, since Mourinho took over in the Premier League, Rose has not started a single match, coming on as a substitute against West Ham and Chelsea for around 15 minutes each.

He has been left on the bench three times and excluded from the squad a further three (Transfer Markt).

It was reported by the Sun that Rose stood out on the pitch for 15 minutes on his own after the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea earlier this month.

Rose recently told the media that even if he was not offered a new contract by Daniel Levy, he was not going anywhere and intended to see his final 18-months out before leaving on a free (Guardian).

Paul Robinson has now revealed that he saw Rose train alone against Chelsea after the final whistle before Christmas (Football Insider): “Danny Rose wasn’t even in the squad (v Brighton or Norwich), which is strange.

“I was at the game against Chelsea – Danny Rose came on as a sub – and after the game all the players from Spurs who didn’t play and the substitutes came out and did a little bit of extra running.

“Danny Rose came out on his own, took himself over to the other side of the stadium and did his own running in his own time.

“He wasn’t involved in the squad which for me was a surprise because he’s a left-back for the national team with Ben Chilwell, he plays for England but he can’t get into the Spurs team when they haven’t got a natural left-back. For me, he should be getting more game time.”
