Striker admits it is surreal to be linked with a move to Tottenham

Tottenham are said to be monitoring Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen ahead of making a potential move for him this window.

Bowen has been one of the standout players in the Championship so far this season having scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists for the Tigers so far this term.

He is said to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs including the likes of Everton and Burnley but Spurs are rumoured to be leading the race for 22-year-old.

Although Bowen admitted it was surreal to be linked with Spurs, he said his short-term future lies with Hull City for the moment.

Speaking to the Sun, the Englishman said, “It’s surreal when you see your name linked with clubs like Tottenham in the transfer window. I saw that first on TV. It means I’ve been doing something well. But my loyalties are to this club.”

However, Bowen admitted that he eventually wants to play at the top level and said he hoped to accomplish that with Hull City.

He added: “I’d like to look back at my career and want to have been playing at the highest level week in, week out.”

“Everybody’s dream is to play in the Premier League — and if I do that for a good ten years, I’ll look back and say, ‘I did all I could’. I need to work hard to get there. We want to get this team to the Premier League.”

Further, the 22-year-old also spoke about his admiration for England captain Harry Kane and how he conducts himself both on and off the pitch.

Speaking about Kane, he said: “You earn more respect from people when you conduct yourself in the way he does. He’s still humble, down to earth.”

“If you look at Kane, he’s played right at the top but he goes about his life normally. Some people let it go to their heads but it is my firm belief that you must work on things you do well to make them better. This improves you as a footballer and a person.”

Although it looks like Bowen has ruled out a move in January, based on his words it is clear that he will find it hard to turn down a move to Spurs if they came in for him.
