Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Wout Weghorst may have just teased fans as the striker started following Spurs’ official account on Instagram.

The Dutch international has been prolific since completing his move to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2018, ending his two seasons with the German club with 20 and 18 goals respectively (

The 28-year-old, who already has two goals in three matches this campaign, has been a handful for Bundesliga defences due to his physicality and areal prowess.

The Express reported last week that Tottenham could complete a £27 million move for Weghorst before the transfer window shuts, while Dutch publication Tubantia claims that the striker could seal his move to Spurs by the end of the week.

With Weghorst now following Tottenham’s official account on Instagram, it is only likely to add to the speculation linking him with a move to the Lilywhites.

It is worth noting that Spurs are not the only Premier League side that Weghorst is following on Instagram. He also appears to be following Newcastle, Aston Villa, Brighton and Fulham, presumably because he has former club teammates or international teammates playing for those sides. However, Spurs do appear to be the lastest PL club he has followed.
